Common Problems

calls or emails and perhaps even help you find enlightenment? Just

DC SIX has had a fairly trouble free launch.
Most customers have experienced a bug free product that does what it
advertises.
Limited Crashing
We did have some problems with about 1% of our
early users who had instant crashing problems. We fixed a
majority of these problems with the patch 6.04. If you haven't
yet downloaded it, you can click
here.
If you still are experiencing crashing on EZ Clean
or Continuous Noise. Here are several other things you might
try:
 | Go to Edit/Preferences/Sound Card and change
the system from WDM to MME support. |
| Go Into your Control Panel/System and turn the
acceleration on your Video card to its lowest setting.
This won't make any difference your normal system's
performance...unless you play games...otherwise, you'll never
notice, but you may save crucial resources. |
Redesign of Find and Mark Silent Passages
Our programmers redesigned the Find and Mark
Silent Passages section of the CD Prep Menu. You may need a
slightly different approach than you used with DC FIVE. Just
lower the threshold (maybe -50db or -55dB to start), set the minimum
time to a short time like .2sec, and set the minimum time between
markers to 20 or 30 seconds. This should move the markers more
toward the end of the last tune rather than the start of the next
tune.

So far, the release of DC LIVE/Forensics 6.0 has been
similar to DC SIX. We have released a new patch to 6.04 which
fixes all of the problems outlined above. Just click

| "I can't get recording levels in Diamond Cut. I've got my audio source plugged into the inputs of the sound card, I can hear it playing through the speakers, but when I hit record or hit Pause, I see no levels in my software." |
This is a pretty common problem. Most likely, your sound card does not have the line level inputs turned on or up. Just go to the tray in the lower right of your Windows OS and double click on the little yellow speaker icon. Then go to File/Properties and look for the
"recording" controls. Chances are when you see Line Level Input, it will either be muted or turned down. Remedy this and you should then begin seeing levels in your software.
Special Note: Turntable owners! If you are trying to plug your turntable directly into your sound card's line level inputs, chances are that you will not get enough levels to adequately record your material. You'll either need to purchase a Phono Preamp or you can hook your Stereo System's Tape Out outputs to the input of your sound card.

Diamond Cut 32

| "I am trying to install your Diamond Cut 32 product and I keep getting a "Move Data Error 113" Is my file corrupt or can I work around this?" |
For some reason, our installer sometimes gets confused by the programs that you have running in the background in Windows. This bug usually occurs when we email you a ZIP file of the program. There are several workarounds that usually do the trick.
1. Unzip the file and copy all contents to a separate directory to install. Just click on Setup.
2. Boot in Safe Mode.
3. Manual Install- If these two fail, you can also simply copy all of the files on the CD or zip file to a directory on your hard drive. Copy the file "presets.ini" to your
Windows directory and create a shortcut to the DCART32.exe file to launch the program.

"I've had some problems accessing certain areas of the Help File."

We have also experienced some broken links in the Help file on certain cases. The Help file is complete and not missing any information. To access any particular tutorial or other area of the Help file, just go to Help/Contents and search for whatever topic interests you.
